Halfway to June

It seems impossible to be halfway through this pregnancy! It's been a busy couple of weeks and I will post some Mexico soon. Not only are we counting down the weeks until baby, but we are also counting down the weeks until we are back to sunny summer time!

For now here are weeks 19 and 20 pictures. I am getting really excited about meeting this little Baby H. I am getting more used to the odd body shape, but I am surprised how strange a transition that has been.

A Monday Night...what more can you expect

Well, I made it 3 days straight at the gym but today, no such luck. I was Hungry all day! So I stayed home and heated up some leftovers instead. I know, not the best trade off but whatever. Right now I am working on twice baked potatos for Derek and re-heated ham because he did make it to the gym. :)

So just a generic baby check in blog update because I am tired. It's week 17 and I have been feeling really good lately. Month 1 was good, 2 and 3 were rough with more puking than I care to think about, and the last part of 4 has been good. Unfortunately, the most disgusting cold set in at the beginning of month 4 coupled with the remaining touch of upset stomach. I was a sight. Lucky Derek to have that beauty every morning. He was so sweet and still asks me every morning how my tummy is doing.

Tomorrow is my next doctors appointment and I am excited. I hope to see an ultrasound again soon but am guessing it won't be until next month. I am feeling more like a true pregnant girl now with a tummy that's definitely sticking out. And last night I watched MTV's Teen Mom and cried through most of it. And tonight I as I blog and cook, I am watching the new Bachelor and judging the girls. Aah, good night.

Friday, January 1, 2010

The first day of 2010 has come and gone and it was pretty relaxing. I woke up around 8:30 and lazed around until 9ish. After reading the paper, having a bowl of cereal, and changing I headed to the gym. I love belonging to AnyTime Fitness because, well c'mon, it's open whenever its convenient for me. It was pretty funny to see who would go to the gym on New Years morning. There was about 10 people when I got there and 9 of them were women. The 10th was an older guy probably in his 70's.

After a nice workout, Derek and I got ready and met his cousins for lunch at my newest favorite restaurant Pho Saigon. The Vegetable Soup is delicious and full of noodles which is the best part. After lunch, Derek had to head to work so I headed to Barnes and Noble. It was awesome to stroll Barnes and Noble and take the time to read a few books.

Around 4, my family came down to my aunt's so I went to visit them. By 8 pm I was home and snuggled into my warmest comfy clothes. I have 3 layers on and have finally heated up.

Baby H is causing a sore back tonight. According to the websites, the baby is about 5 inches long and I should feel consistent movements soon. Right now, I am just feeling the growth pains as my tummy gets bigger. Now it's off to get some beauty (hah!) rest.

Changes in 2010

It has been a long time since I posted anything. It takes a New Years at home to get me active on here again. Kind of like a resolution...

Derek is working and will be home soon so we can enjoy the official New Year together. So while I wait, here is a list of the things that happened in 2009.

January: Started my last semester of grad school.

February: My birthday! I turned 27.

March: Business trip to TX.

April: So busy with work!

May: I graduated with my MBA!

June: We took a fabulous trip to Jamaica.

July: We celebrated 4 years of marriage and 3 years of home ownership.

August: Lot's of time camping and at the lake.

September: Life picked up again and I started teaching Intro to Business.

October: We found out we were expecting a Baby!

November: Hunting, Thanksgiving, and told our parents and siblings about the first grandchild/niece/nephew.

December: Derek's birthday - 28! I finished a semester of teaching and enjoyed a brief work trip to Chicago.

We are looking forward to a lot of exciting things in 2010 but a few highlights include:

  • Hosting a Retreat for work in April

  • Preparing, preparing, preparing to be parents

4th Anniversary

Derek sent me flowers at work and took me to Richards for dinner. I got him a subscription to the Free Press - kinda lame but it was something he wanted that he wouldn't buy himself. :) Our food was so good and we talked for hours. It was a perfect anniversary and awesome to spend time toghether.

Hail in July

We came home to hail on July 21. Derek had been out running and got pelted. I was 2 miles away at the gym and it barely rained. Crazy crazy weather.

Steam as it evaporated off the lawn.

Ouch. Derek got hit by this stuff!

Sad remains of a garden.

So many pictures but we were just amazed.

These pictures were taken about an hour after it hailed. The next morning, we still had hail on the deck and in the shadows around the house.

Random Summer Stuff

Just a few pictures from summer. They loaded wrong but I am not going to do it again. Sorry.

Derek cooking at the lake.

Watching the fireworks at the lake with the family after Derek went home to work.

I went for a boat ride with J before the fireworks - he messed up our hair.

Our mom is proud.

My attempts at gardening. Coincidentally, this failed - see the next post.

Father's Day at Chanhassen with the whole family.

Miss Aleaha home to visit means pedicures and Pagliai's with Joni.

Just a random after dinner at Crave, my brother-in-law's restaurant - I think he was talking to co-workers at this point.
